Product Description

Product Description
One of the biggest wrestling superstars of the past 20 years, and one of the greatest champions of all time, Ric Flair has carved out a legacy for himself that will never be surpassed. Born Richard Fliehr in Minneapolis, he made his professional wrestling debut in 1972, quickly rising to the top of the Mid-Atlantic region where he won the regional and tag-team titles as well as the US title. In 1975 however his career almost ended when he suffered a broken back, ironically in a plane crash, not in the ring. Showing incredible resilience, Flair returned to the ring within six months. Teaming up with Gregory Valentine, he won the NWA Tag Team Title, later winning the NWA Title by defeating 'The American Dream', Dusty Rhoades. Subsequently he entered the WWEand beat Randy 'The Macho Man' Savage for the WWE Heavyweight Title, only to return to the WCW with tremendous success. He is now back with WWE where he still competes at the same time as managing other stars, among them Triple H.

5.0 out of 5 stars I couldn't put the book down....!, 20 Sep 2005
By troy (London, England) - See all my reviews
I only bought this book due the great feedback it has received on here, and it doesn't disappoint!
Great stories about Roddy Piper and other wrestling legends and some genuinely funny and touching moments.
I was also surprised with Ric's comments regarding Hulk Hogan and especially the Bret Hart and the Vince McMahon bust up!
Still...Triple H, Shawn Michaels and even Vince and the McMahon family are highly regarded by the Nature Boy.
As i said, i finished this book in 2-3 says, totally unputdownable.
Very imformative and highly recommended

5.0 out of 5 stars he beat the man damn it......woooo, 18 Dec 2007
By BGB (UK) - See all my reviews
This book is like the man himself, truly awesome. Ric is very graphic in depicting his life story, and despite his wealth and fame still made me feel sorry for him. He goes into great detail about the wild days and nights, which in themselves made for some fantastic stories. Highly amusing and disturbing at the same time. You gotta respect the man after what he's been through and the torment he put his body through, all in the name of entertainment for the fans. I found this book very difficult to put down, hankering for more stories about the boys and behind the scenes gossip. This book delivers plenty in both these categories. Flair tells in stark truth, his opinions on those in charge and the athletes themselves. A truly "fan"tastic book, if this is the only wrestling book you read, you will not be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars RIC FLAIR IS THE GREATEST WRESTLER OF ALL TIME (AND YOU KNOW IT), 11 May 2006
By stuart "s.vernon" (MIDDLESBROUGH, ENGLAND) - See all my reviews
(TOP 100 REVIEWER)
I have read this book and I love it.
I am a huge RIC FLAIR fan and in my opinion he is the greatest wrestler of all time.
This book explains him first being born and being sold on the black market, him being a mischevious child at school to him almost giving up praticing wrestling and the hard vigous training he had. To him starting the NWA and the belts he held.
Ric even talks about his family and the death of his father,
The wrestlers he had opinions on even if they were not very nice he told it like it was - about the MICK FOLEY just being a glorified stunt man and and him not liking Eric Bishoff and Eric sueing him. Ric not feeling like himself and feeling down all the time.
Ric goes on to say about Hulk Hogan whipping his son in WCW and him having all night parties to him slapping Eric in WWE and Sargent Slaughter coming in to hold him down to him getting shouted at by VINCE.
Ric has a lot of respect for Vince's family and he says it in this book.
He goes on to say with the figure four leg lock he dosen't really put pressure on it.
Ric even says about him admiring RICKY "THE DRAGON" STEAMBOAT and having an argument with RICKY's wife.
To the winning of the 1993 ROYAL RUMBLE and going back to WCW to say it was just the same than when he left.
When he left WCW and joined WWE he said he had the best year and a half of his career.
This book explains everything even him joining EVOLUTION to him wrestling TRIPLE H.
I read this book and loved it and I can't wait to read it again.
RIC FLAIR you are in my opinion the greatest wrestler of all time and don't let anybody else tell you any different.
Buy this book you wrestling fans and enjoy the story of the greatest wrestler alive today.
