Product Description

Book Description

Nobody's Child - A tale of 19th Century Irish emigrants and their struggle to build a new life in the United States.

From the Author

Inspiration for Nobody's child came during a tour of Ireland a couple of years ago. Whilst on the tour I came across these famine cottages which were abandoned. it started from there, imagining the lives of the people who had lived in them. Many of the descriptions and incidents recalled in the book are factual although names have been changed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Author comment, 12 Jan 2006
By A Customer
Nobody's Child is a story that deserves to be read. It has already proved to be an enduring and sought after book having had a host of positive reviews.

Set in 1847 in Co Cork, Ireland, it tells the story of two very brave little girls, Aine and Molly Murphy and holds the reader enthralled as they journey with these children through times of sadness, happiness, joy, despair, love and hope. The story will not fail to evoke deep emotions.

Nobody's Child is a tribute to the human spirit and its ability to overcome lifes trials and tribulations,it is a strength which is encased within each and every human being. The book is not a tale of woe, but more a tribute to the Irish people during what was one of the most harrowing times in Irish history. Through the bravery of Aine and Molly Murphy we can be reassured that triumph can indeed result from adversity, and good can emerge from hardship and suffering. Buy this book today, you won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Leo Byrne Irish author, 17 Aug 2005

(REAL NAME)
There have been many stories told in the past and to this very day about the horrors of the Irish Famine. Anne Kelly gives the reader of this book a vivid detail of what the people in Ireland experienced during those terrible times, especially the little children.

While reading Nobody's Child, one cannot help but feel "anguish, sadness, and anger at the rogues in this story, but on the same token, a feeling of joy at times, to see the relief and the survival of these strong willed children. Out of the ashes a rose shall grow, and it does, but let us not forget the horrible times of that famine and learn from it
