Product Description

Product Description

Coping with Stress at University comprehensively covers the main problems and stresses that a student may experience during their university career. Looking at university life from a variety of angles, this book equips the student to be able to deal with stressful situations ranging from exam pressure to relationship problems, from homesickness to managing finances. Although the problems do not change, the way a student faces them can and the more effective the approach, the less stress the student will feel when tackling their concerns.

Quotes and case studies from previous students illustrate how problems have been dealt with in the past, and a number of coping techniques and exercises are provided to help prepare students for the transition into and through university life.

Coping with Stress at University is an invaluable introduction to university life for any potential or current student, and it also acts as a helpful resource for parents and friends wishing to gain a greater understanding of the issues faced at university.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's like a friend with advice..., 29 Jun 2006
The thing I really like about Stephen and Angela's guide is that it really is just that...a guide. It doesn't tell you what to do but gives you helpful tools to allow you to make changes (minor and major) that allow you to cope with the stresses of being at university.

I've suffered from stress ensuring that I'm spending my money wisely sticking to budgets, that I'm dong enough work to not just do well but to pass my courses, and to meet all these expectations that are made by others and of me.

It's difficult. Stephen and Angela's guide has allowed me to take stock of the stresses I face and implement changes at my own pace to help me through it.

There's still a way to go for me but reading some of the views in this book and the advice offered, I'm feeling lighter. There's less stress now...which allows me to surf the net and write reviews :o)

Thanks guys, great book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stress? What Stress?!!, 15 Jun 2006

Coping with Stress at University means you won't have any once you've read it!

The book is great at looking at every angle of uni life, lectures, seminars, societies, social life, drinking , dancing and of course campus life.

This is a definite must for students everywhere who are feeling pangs of anxiety before the new year begins. It's a definite feeling i had before i started and had i read the book i would've been better equipped to do the 'knocking on your neighbour's door on your first day to say hi' bit. It reminds you that everyone is in the same boat. Lots of other tips given out too.

Don't despair, read the book and you'll be fine...pocket guide to living with stress at University. Absolutely great!
