5.0 out of 5 stars A real pageturner, 19 Dec 2005
By A Customer
This is John Coppinger's first published novel and I certainly hope it is not going to be the last.
Obviously his background of working in the film industry and for museums did the story a huge favour. It hasn't got any tiring lengths, certainly doesn't lack of innovative ideas and after a while you really ask yourself if all this could have been possible. That dinosaurs developed a civilisation and we just haven't found the evidence yet.
Well, the chracters in this one do find the evidence and from then onwards it just rolls. I think it is quite an achievement to spin a plot out over cerveral years without getting boring.
So my tip on this one is: Read it you won't regret it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Compelling and Thought Provoking., 3 April 2006

Cosmic in it's implications, I was sorry to finish this book. Certainly there is room to continue this saga and one hopes for a sequel. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Written and researched from the heart in a compelling style, one is immersed in a world of possibilities which open the mind, not least of which is the certainty that the Earth will again one day be struck by a sizeable asteroid.

A humane story told by a clearly humanitarian and optimistic author, Mr Coppinger is to be congratulated on this book.

Highly recommended by this reader.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Stuff from a new Author., 26 Mar 2006
Visionary. Touching on a global threat we all face right now. Namely, the striking of the Earth (again) by an asteroid from space...which would put a dent in anyone's day.

But much, much more than that. Emotional, unique, heartfelt and taking more riveting plot turns than you can count. Believable characters and a spirit of real hope throughout the telling.

I was sorry when I finished it. Room for a sequel here.

As Charlton Heston said in the original "Planet of the Apes" movie..."There just has to be something better than Man...has to be".

Read this novel.
