I have just finished this book today, Sunday, could not put it down, one of the best, if not the best book by Jennifer Chiaverini I have read so far. Can not wait for the next in the series. I have them all.

I didn't really expect to like this book as I always buy in the hope that the Elm Creek quilters are taken forward with stories about Quilt Camp. We do gain a little more on the new characters but I found myself enthralled by the story of slavery. It is far-fetched but when a story is so convincingly told I am happy to suspend disbelief and enjoy the read. Not one to pick up if you haven't read the series though.

Having been a fan of the Elm Creek novels for some time this latest edition lived up to the usual excellent standard. Whilst I love my patchwork the idea that a quilt camp like does exist somewhere is a joy and I would love to go to it.
The series of books follows the lives of its various teaching staff plus the back history of Elm Creek Manor itself. You get a good understanding of the struggle from arriving on the shores of America and what the people have had to struggle with to make it the place it is today in rural America.

If you enjoy this book as much as I have I would recommend you start from the beginning, and come forward with the stories, each book stands on its own but its great to become part of the family.

I am looking forward to more of the same, well done Jennifer Chaiverini.
