4.0 out of 5 stars Good . . . but please read for a massive warning!!!!, 22 July 2009
As a teenager I was obsessed with Point Horrors and was distraught when they stopped appearing in my local bookshop.

So imagine my surprise and delight when another teen horror series appears on the bookshelves of said local bookshop. Wow! They were written by the same authors, including R L Stine, Caroline B Cooney and this one, by Diane Hoh. I browsed the books and this one took my interest. It seemed so familiar.

It was only when I realised there was a prologue that featured four adolescent girls discussing their everlasting bond that I thought, hey, wait a minute, this is just too familiar. Diane Hoh has written a book just like this before.

I was wrong - she hadn't written a book just like this. This was the book I remembered from my teen hood - but back then it was called Prom Date. So, this book has been repackaged as a new book in a new series, which I think is deceiving enough - but to make it worse the character's first names (not surnames) have all been changed!!!!

So, if you want reviews on Date with Death check out Prom Date. Indeed all Horror High titles are actually Point Horrors. Despite this issue the plot of the book is good, one of my favourite Point Horrors. The characters are well developed and the plot is interesting. All in all I would certainly give it a read - that's if you haven't already!
