It was a truly exciting thriller which had me gripped and I found it difficult to put down. I felt like I was personally experiencing the sights, the sounds and the smells of London. The book contains a mixture of good and bad times. I disliked the viloence and murders, as there was a great deal. My rating for this book would be 9 out of 10. I would suggest this book would appeal to ages 9yrs and onwards. I beleive that adults would also enjoy this book. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Comment Comment | Permalink | Was this review helpful to you? A truly exciting thriller which had all the family gripped to the very last page. Brilliantly researched and imagined by the author, transporting the reader back to the sights, sounds and smells of the streets of Shakespeare's London. The excitement of plays at the Globe, bear baiting and street fighting are depicted in unflinching and delicious detail, you really feel that you are standing in the hero Pip's own shoes as events unfold. This book manages to be really interesting and informative (for adults as well as children) without detracting from a seriously good story. Highly recommended.
