4.0 out of 5 stars The Highwayman Strikes Again!, 2 Nov 2007
Will and Bess are now up in Scotland, in the exciting new sequel to 'The Highwayman's Footsteps.'When they are blamed for a murder they did not commit, they unwillingly begin lives as smugglers with a family trapped in a cycle of poverty. They are caught in the family's old hatreds, some of which go back for decades in a never-ending spiral. When the youngest girl in the family runs away with the son of the most hated men in southern Scotland, Will and Bess find themselves in a race to save the many lives at stake, while Will is desperate to escape from their new lives. This book has a surprise around every cornerand is full of action, revenge and never-forgotten enemies.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Good Sequel, 14 Jun 2008
By J. M. Harman - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Nicola Morgan has followed her novel "The Highwayman`s Footsteps" by moving our heroes into Scotland with a tale of smuggling and adventure. The characters are well-drawn and the description of the scenery very picturesque. She has obviously been inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson - who would have enjoyed this novel - and Mark Twain.

John Harman.
