About the Author

Hugh McManners served in the British Army for 16 years. His combat experience includes working with the SBS and SAS. He’s contributed to a wide range of publications, including The Times, The Observer and The Daily Telegraph. He is also the editor of Command magazine. He’s written many books, including The Commando Survival Guide. Hugh’s TV work includes Channel 4’s Dispatches and Cutting Edge. He now lives in North Downs, near Canterbury.

This book is packed full of interesting and useful information. It doesn't matter if you are a fair weather walker or an experienced outdoors person there is something in this book to interest you. The illustrations are clear and easy to follow, if you are looking for a survival guide that also has information you can actually use this is the book for you.
