5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic debut, 26 April 2007
By R. Thompson (Derry, Northern Ireland) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Forget Holden Caulfield, Danny gives a funny and poignant voice to misplaced boys everywhere. Add two parts Mark Twain and one of the late great Kurt Vonnegut and Tom Kelly has come up with a debut to be reckoned with. I read it to my boy and he laughed himself to sleep for a week. To be read by torchlight under the duvet of shame (read it!)

5.0 out of 5 stars if you want a book that you can't put down, read this., 29 Mar 2007
By ra (uk) - See all my reviews
this is an essential book for anyone over the age of 9. It made me laugh & cry all in the space of 30 seconds, & I couldn't put it down once I'd picked it up... & when I finished it I had to start it all over again. Funny, heartbreaking, mysterious... Oh, just go & buy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Storytelling, 28 Mar 2007
By Robert Fox (London, UK) - See all my reviews
Despite heartwrenching moments, "The Thing with Finn" is a wonderful story for both children and parents, brimming with humour and adventure. Far from being self conscious and insincere, my nephew found this book to be interesting, honest and heartwarming. Just like Danny, he found his own meanings in a tale which is bound to stay with you long after you've read it. Highly recommended.
