Most works on hypnosis will give techniques and advice about how to use it to solve everyday problems, and in particular, how to use the power of autosuggestion to do that.

This book offers next to nothing in terms of technique. There are probably 2 simple ideas that may be of interest.

In my opinion the author is very self-opinionated and this book is his opportunity to crow about his humble backgrounds leading to success in the armed forces and leading to stage hypnotism, laced with religious sanctimonious undertones.

The bulk of the book is taken up with verbatim records of someone else's stage hypnosis transcript (somewhat boring and predictable) and a regression of a relative (quite interesting).

It offered no techniques for auto suggestion and could be read cover to cover in a 2 hour train journey.

In all, very disappointing. Paul McKenna's works are far better.
