5.0 out of 5 stars A Mind Blowing Read!, 20 Oct 2009
By NYC Reader (NYC, NY) - See all my reviews
I really enjoyed this book. I loved that Dyer gives us the 18 typical
excuses thought by most people. These include: "I am too old/or too young",
"I am afraid", "I don't have the time" or "I don't have the money" etc...

After naming the excuses, he let's us in on the seven principles for
overcoming excuses: awareness, alignment, now, contemplation,
willingness, passion, and compassion. After telling us the principles
he shows the reader a new way of looking at excuses, creating a
paradigm shift. Dyer asks the reader to ask themselves six questions
which include "Is it true?" , "Where did the excuse come from?" and
"What is the payoff?"

Other books I read, and highly recommend, to let go of self defeating
thoughts are Working on Yourself Doesn't Work: The 3 Simple Ideas That Will Instantaneously Transform Your Life How to Create a Magical Relationship: The 3 Simple Ideas that Will Instantaneously Transform Your Love Life Being Here: Modern Day Tales of Enlightenment by award winning authors Ariel & Shya Kane.

5.0 out of 5 stars No Excuse, 30 May 2009
By Susan E. Finch "Susan NYC" (NYC) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I've always been a fan of Wayne Dyer's work but am especially excited by this new book. In a delightful style, he proposes that we can erroneously believe the unexamined lies and "excuses" that our brains tell us, as the truth. By examining these excuses one can allow them to disappear and then be free to live a full, happy and successful life.

If you like Dyer's books you are sure to be inspired by the works of Ariel and Shya Kane: How to Create a Magical Relationship: The 3 Simple Ideas that Will Instantaneously Transform Your Love Life, Working on Yourself Doesn't Work: The 3 Simple Ideas That Will Instantaneously Transform Your Lifeand Being Here: Modern Day Tales of Enlightenment. They offer enlightenment and joy for modern day living. By simply noticing my knee-jerk habits, without judging myself, life long struggles dissolve. Life becomes an effortless experience of well-being and fascination. Dyer and The Kane's are amazing guides to having a brilliant life. Enjoy!

4.0 out of 5 stars An excuse-free Life!, 16 Jul 2009
By Colleen Messina - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I have been a fan of Wayne W. Dyer for many years, and his new book, "Excuses Begone" is refreshing and comforting. He gently reminds me that I have the power to bring myself into harmony with who I really am - a being that has infinite possibilities of experiencing great success, great health and unlimited happiness. Dyer continues to inspire me with his writing and insight.

Wayne W. Dyer was one of the first authors whom I felt a connection with as I dove into self discovery. If you enjoy Wayne W. Dyer, definitely check out authors, Ariel & Shya Kane. In their books, Working on Yourself Doesn't Work: The 3 Simple Ideas That Will Instantaneously Transform Your Life, Being Here: Modern Day Tales of Enlightenment & How to Create a Magical Relationship: The 3 Simple Ideas that Will Instantaneously Transform Your Love Life, I have discovered an ease within myself that is lasting. The Kanes have helped me discover that Enlightenment is a skill set, not a destination. And it's available right now! It's hard to make excuses when you're living in the moment!
