The plot is set up quite well. A once-crack reporter slowly on the slid, reduced to covering nutters, cranks, and kooks. But,
after that the story really has nowhere to go. We watch Roscoe
become just another of the mentally ill people he's spent too
long reporting. The ending (such as it was) is transparent and
a non-event. A big disappointment.
