Max's mother and uncle are kidnapped by Hudich's forces, and the sinister Alan and Grd, force Max to make a deal with them to save his mother's life.
Max, meanwhile, working with his grandfather, his best friend Cindy, the elf Yelka, the elephant like friendly creature Ell, and the beautiful warrior sprite Sky, and various other friends to free Max's mother and to defeat the dark forces.
A series of battles between Max and his friends in his grandfather's town (with Larry and his gang) and on the planet Pekel, make for an exciting read which flows smoothly and with good characterization.
