This book is absolutely essential for anyone using hostels in the U.S. It provides opinionated reviews of hostels and gives helpful information. It is not a review of all hostels so you don't have to read through despcriptions of places the author didn't like. Instead, you can choose from the places she enjoyed enough to include. It is very thorough and gets you excited about your trip. I truly recommend it.
