Product Description

Product Description

The teachers may not always be correct, but they always write. During his more than twenty years as a teacher, D Wayne Dworsky has managed to accumulate a huge collection of quips, short sayings that deal with the process of teaching and the various problems that crop up from time to time. Some are hilarious. He also picked up quips from the airport (flying is one of his great loves) and the subway (or those ideas which come our way by hearsay). Quips from the Classroom, the Airport and the Subway embrace the fundamentals of human emotions. The work engenders our basic response to bizarre human exchanges. Its timeless collection of mirthful disagreements undermines the essence of the antics of personal interactions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extraordinary Insight, 14 Jul 2007
By Beybes "Admirer" (Philippines) - See all my reviews
Mirthful disagreements! What a way to describe the marvelous collection of quips in this book. Some of them just blew me away. I have never seen an author take the simplest ideas and dramatize them in such a way that opens your eyes to what life's interactions are really all about. Setting up the forethoughts of classroom antics brought me to my knees in laughter. This author finds a way to dig deep into your psyche and expose all those crises that make us prevail. The one that involves Westerly is a must read. You don't have to be a pilot to love it. I haven't heard anything this funny since Abbot & Costello's "Who's on First." You simply must read it. And the price is right.
