This book is a homage to the Bernese Mountain Dog. The text portrays the essence of the Berner Sennenhund and celebrates the human-Berner bond. The photographs capture the beauty -- body and soul -- of the Bernese Mountain Dog in breathtaking and charming images, many of which are taken in authentic Swiss settings. This fabulous coffee table book will be treasured forever. The full range of the Berner is brought to you in living colour as a special book on the breed. Never before have we been presented with such a stunning collection of the finest Berner photographs. 5.0 out of 5 stars The Bernese Mountain Dog - A Dog of Destiny by Bernd Guenter, 18 May 2004
At last I received my copy of Bernd Guenter's new book "The Bernese Mountain Dog - A Dog of Destiny!

Took an early night last night to read it, curled up with my three Bernese.

It is wonderful!

I have many other books on the Bernese Mountain Dog but this one is so very special. Such beautiful photographs and such a very special, personal involvement with the breed!

Thanks Bernd! This is the first book on the breed I have ever read that comes to the point of what these dogs are really about! Is the book I would wish to have written!

The History of the Breed goes far beyond anything in the other books I own, and is made simple to understand where these dogs came from.

And a larger understanding of the inherited traits they were bred for!

At times I cried!

Thank you, Bernd!

And Biggest Bernese Hugs that yours is the first book on the Breed I have ever read that advocates walking and exercising these dogs!

Two/one hour daily walks! Yes!!! And more!

These dogs are supposed to be working dogs and not couch potatoes!

Buy this book!

Bernd's story will tell you so much about the Breed!
