2.0 out of 5 stars The worst Dreamwave book so far, not counting Armada., 22 Sep 2004
Dreamwave's Transformers books are, IMHO, some of the most exciting and visually appealing comics being published at the moment, but this one is a big let down.

The story is OK, but not as good as the first War Within - before, Furman was doing well fitting in with the new Dreamwave continuity, but here he is back to his old habits, not least of which is creating his own characters when there are dozens of unused existing characters to choose from.

Worst of all though, is the art, which is terrible compared to the first book, or the Dreamwave G1 line in general. I've heard Wildman blame the inkers, but they can't be responsible for terrible perspectives, distorted "bendy" limbs, drawings lacking in detail (especially compared to Pat lee's work) and uninspiring Cybertronian modes for those that Wildman created, like Sideswipe. Figueroa's Cybertronian designs though remain superb and I wish I wish I wish for a toy line based on these.
