5.0 out of 5 stars Best RPG buy for years, 19 Jan 2005
What can I say? Splendid! A system that is simple enough not to get in the way of gameplay yet broad enough to give you the structure you need. M&M is based on the d20 system but has stripped out the rules-for-the-sake-of-it and produced a slick little wonder of a game. The most obvious difference to d20 games is the combination of "hero points" and damage saves rather than hit points, hero points being level based points that can be spent in a variety of ways thought a gaming session: sometimes to stay up and fighting, othertimes to push the limits of your powers or to get that crucial blow in. Of course, the big baddies have villan points too... Add to that the excellent means to incorperate devices (weapons/armour to you and me) and a well thought out advancement scheme makes this game a total winner. I'm already thinking of converting the system to a fantasy setting where it should work like a charm.
