Monotypes - one-of-a-kind, printed, hand-made impressions - are created with readily available materials such as unflavoured gelatin, waterbased printing inks and tempera paint. The finished products resemble many of the time proven mechanical printmaking processes such as woodcuts, reduction prints, photograms, collagraphs, serigraphs, lithographs and etchings, but retain their own unique quality. About the Author
Nancy Marculewicz earned a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design. She has been exploring this unique, nonmechanical printmaking method for some time, and teaches workshop that produce images that are truly one-of-a-kind. Her artwork has been shown throughout America and Europe, winning awards for both creativity and excellence.
