Almost Perfect, 26 Jun 2002
A truly original setting with places such as the Molten Sea, which apparently has Death trapped beneath it, Blood Wood, where the Elven inhabitants have performed a ritual to ward of the Horrors (bad things that came into the world) but at a terrible price, the Mist Swamps, and the Badlands, to name a few. Coupled with characters to play like Humans, Obsidimen (Giant humanoids made from stone), Orks, Trolls, T S'Krang (Lizard men), Windlings (9" small winged creatures), Elves, and Dwarves, and an excellent rules system, Earthdawn is by far the best fantasy rpg Ive played in my 22 year interest in the hobby. If I had a gripe, it would be the copious amounts of data you have to input for NPCs, between defenses, karma, attributes, skills, talents, and (if your one of the 4 spellcasters) magical spells, equipment etc, it can easily take up an entire page. Still, thats why we invented PCs. Buy it. Its almost the perfect rpg.
