About the Author

Michael G. Rayel, M.D., is currently the director of the department of psychiatry at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Peninsulas Health Care Corporation in Newfoundland, Canada. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with subspecialty certification in forensic psychiatry. He is certified in clinical psychopharmacology by the American Society of Clinical Pharmacology. He trained in general psychiatry and psychodynamic psychotherapy at New York Medical College, in geriatric psychiatry at New York University Medical Center, and in forensic correctional psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He lives in Clarenville, Newfoundland.
