Product Description

Synopsis
An approach to choosing and using offshore tax havens. This work is designed as a tool for the professional and other interested parties seeking practical means for choosing an offshore. It looks to the essence of the choice, starting with what the user's needs are and progressing to what the user must look at. It also includes a detailed analysis of tax laws, trusts, an overview of international law and implication of the internet. The objective of this publication is to reveal a set of programs that will assist major businesses, professionals and others in making a choice of using international tax havens efficiently and effectively. This indepth analysis provides a structure for use by the non-specialist as well as the specialist. To assist the business owner in maximising their wealth. Through over 20 years of working with domestic and international tax, Dr. Grosh has put together a work that is designed to give a different perspective on the topic. The approach taken is designed to help the reader come up with ideas and broaden their insight into the use of tax havens, presented in a manner equally informative to the consumer as to the professional.

From the Author
About the Authors
Dr. Grosh has a Ph.D. in International Taxation, is a Lawyer specialising in tax planning domestically and internationally, and is a Canadian Chartered Accountant. He also has several other degrees and has contributed to many publications through articles and input. He has extensive practical experience from practicing as an advisor for over 20 years and has worked with a range of individuals and corporations, being a great believer in designing the system to the client rather than making the client adhere to the system (which most international planners dictate). He has lived in at least 7 different countries and has been to over 20 of the so-called tax havens ranging from those in Europe & the U.K., many offshores South of North America, and those in proximity to Australia. Eric Greif (B.A., LL.B., LL.M.), Iredell Fellow in Law at Lancaster University, has a background in international law and international relations. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the International Law Association.

5.0 out of 5 stars simple and intelligent, 22 Sep 2003
This is the second time I bought this book because I lent it to a friend and they never returned it! Although I'm American, I saw that this book is actually cheaper at your amazon.co.uk site through Marketplace. This is a handy little reference work, though skimpy in printing quality, it is long on wisdom. I would say it is best when used with other books on the subject. There must be some reason why this book is over two years old but continues to be popular! Anything that assists me in saving money from the taxman is worth the investment. Bravo Mr Grosh and Mr Greif.

4.0 out of 5 stars beware: no post 9-11 info...but still relevant, 23 Aug 2004
this book was written in the year before 9-11, so don't expect any of the new international regulations re: money laundering and use of tax havens

still, this is a standard text on processes for choosing an offshore site

time for an updated edition Mssrs. Grosh & Greif?

4.0 out of 5 stars dry but effective, 15 May 2002
By A Customer
OK - so this isn't the most exciting read you'll have this year and, no, it doesn't answer every question about tax havens. What I like about it however is that it explains how a person makes the choice of offshore tax haven location, with useful information along the way, so it works well as a companion text with the other literature out there on offshore...
