Book Description
Hell with the lid taken off. That was how Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania was perceived during the latter part of the nineteenth century when the entire seethed as a cauldron of molten steel, blackening the midday sun with endless clouds of ash and soot. In 1901, beneath a thick haze of manganese dust, an evil and malicious graveworm awoke among the immegrant slums and grossly polluted rivers. And there the vile wickedness thrived and grew...
Today, thirteen-year-old Angela Danziger is a living testament to this poisonious industrialization. A brokenhearted albino with clipped wings and a tragic past, she is called the Blessed Moonchild by mystics and witches alike...a present-day Joan of Arc. But can she survive the merciless onslaught of the festering worms and preserve her angelic lineage--and her own sanity--or will she fall prey to their evil and destructive passions?
