5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful stuff..., 21 Mar 2001
This book is different to a good deal of the graphic novels I have read before. Its art is stunning, well drawn, beautifully coloured pages fill this book, and give it a unique atmosphere. It seems to capture the mood of the Soviet Union to perfection, and is also a brilliant study into the way the greatest leaders fall eventually. All in all, buy it for its art, stay hooked for its evocative story. But be warned - this is heavy stuff. If you want action and entertainment, try one of the Dredd epics. But if you want to read a graphic novel that will open up new doors of reason - look no further. Oh yes, and if you have a sceptical friend like I do, who keeps saying comic books are for kids, make him or her read this. They will be forced to eat their words.
