I found this book thought-provoking and challenging. I'm not sure whether the first reviewer (SF "Evangelist") was reading the same book, but I didn't find any explicit mention of casting demons out of a Christian and any mention of deliverance ministry was only a small and passing reference within the book. The main thrust of the book is that God is doing amazing things around the world - with many well documented accounts of miracles - and that he's using ordinary Christians like you and me to build his kingdom.

There is a strong emphasis on house churches and on finding new expressions of church which enable every believer to grow and to find his or her place in the army of God - and some within institutional churches may be offended by this, but I think it is a message that needs to be proclaimed loud and clear.

The main purpose of this book can be summarised by a quote from it. "You're living in the middle of the biggest breakthrough of the last two millenia, and this is your golden chance to grab hold, hang on, and let the momentum force of God's kingdom lift you up from whatever treadmill you may be on and place you in a key spot on the battle line where the war for the world is being fought with every tick of the clock."

The book certain caused me to review the treadmills that I find myself on, and I hope it will do the same for you.

Just occasionally you come across a book that is a real life changer. Megashift is one of those books. At first I thought that the shift the author was referring to was the huge shift towards God right across the world. He tells so many stories of radical Christians living lives totally committed to Christ and winning thousands of people to Him.

It was only as I read further that I realised that the real shift is in how we 'do' Church - whether we have one or two trained leaders, with everybody else sitting dutifully in the pews, or whether we teach the people who they are in Christ and set them loose to do whatever God calls them to do.

For many of us, this book will cause us to change our mindset, it will give us a fresh vision of the greatness of God and how He wants to use us ordinary people to accomplish His purposes, and it will make us so hungry to see these amazing things happen here in England.

An excellent book, full of anecdotes, written in a very easy to read style. I've bought a copy for all our elders and a lot of my friends for Christmas!
