I think it's obvious from the title that this is not a book about dog behaviour but a book about how to deal with clients, that happens to focus on the relationship between anxious pet-owner and dog behaviourist. As such it does "just what it says on the tin" but British behaviourists should be aware that this is a an American book and features assumptions based on American attitudes to dog behaviour and American expectations. That said, it would have been handy for me when I started out as I couldn't understand why others couldn't understand/control their pets when I found it so easy, and made the mistake of assuming they wanted the same from their pets that I do from mine. They never do!

Interesting and informative but not a book to be read on it's own, I think it is an accompaniment to another book "Behaviour problems in dogs"
