This book really is the most. Marie Mongan has taken a fresh look at the whole business of childbirth - how is usually is today in the Western World, and how it can be. We may have wondered why it is that most women in the developing world have no trouble with the birthing process and give birth very easily, and yet we in the West dread it as a pain-filled time. The key difference seems to be what Mongan identifies as the Fear-Tension-Pain syndrome, which is about the physiological effects of fear interfering with the body's natural handling of the birth situation. The book also provides much more detailed information on the way the uterus and associated organs operate, and also extensive mental and physical exercises that can be used during pregnancy to make a sound preparation for birthing time.
Marie Mongan has also established the HypnoBirthing Institute, which trains hypnotherapists and midwives to educate women and their birthing companions in HypnoBirthing techniques. As a result, HypnoBirthing classes and workshops are now widely available in the USA and increasingly in other countries such as the UK.

HypnoBirthing A Celebration of Life, this book offers an excellent resource for birth education. The format makes it an easy read and the content gives every new parent an opportunity to be fulfilled by learning powerful natural alternatives to drugs, pain and fear using self-hypnosis and special ways of working with the body. This book is a must read for parents new and old, midwifes, doulas, practitioners and anyone who is interested in the natural way childbirth should be enjoy!
