Product Description

Product Description

Over the past thirty years both Labour and Conservative governments have undermined the independence and sovereignty of Britain. This book explores these decades of dishonesty as British independence has been shamefully handed over to a multinational establishment with growing features of independent nationhood.

From the Author

I wrote The Last Days of Britain, The Final Betrayal because so few people appeared to know how much independence Britain has already lost. Certainly the British government was not going to tell us. Those who have read this book say the results of my two years research are terrifying. At the front is a double page of thermometers illustrating how much independence is left in foreign policy, defence and every other area of government. Each chapter is liberally strewn with quotations reinforcing the text. I hope you too - like so many others - will find it an easy read and one of the most important books to contribute to our survival as an independent, free and democratic country.

5.0 out of 5 stars enlightening, 13 July 2004
By A Customer
Anyone who views the EU and its stealthy but steady control over Britain, and England in particular, will not be surprised by the contents of this book. As one previous reviewer noted, none of it comes as much of a surprise. That having been said, however, Lindsay Jenkins asks what many do not. For example, what exactly is in it for Tony Blair to hand over all control to Brussels when there's certainly nothing in it for Britain except more and more bureaucracy? Not even Tony Blair himself reveals what the supposed benefits are. Lindsay Jenkins also highlights what it would mean to join the euro, rightly stating that, as good as it is to have friendly relations with our closest neighbours, nobody wants them in our own house telling us how to run it. For anyone looking to read more into the EU and its intentions then this book serves an excellent purpose as it gives a clear assessment of the damage caused by EU bureaucracy to Britain. It gives cause to wonder why both Labour and the Conservatives have had such unreserved enthusiasm for such a corrupt organisation for the last 30-40 years. The arguments in this book show that there are plenty of excellent reasons for leaving the EU, ech of them on their own a good enough reason. It also shows that to display an unwillingness to join the euro does not make one a europhobe, a 'little Englander', or any other insulting name that EU enthusiasts use to slur those who don't recognise the EU as the gretat European alliance that it professes to be. Like many other books on this subject it is a must read!

4.0 out of 5 stars Eurosceptic Confirmation, 20 Jan 2002
By A Customer
As a Eurosceptic, I read this book and found that it confirmed much of what I already knew: Britain is already subservient to the EU bureaucrats and its so-called Parliament at tremendous cost to the British taxpayer. However, Lindsay Jenkins pulls together the threads of the past thirty years to show how the EU has developed to its present situation and indicates how it may develop in the near fuure.
My only criticism is the lack of an index.
