5.0 out of 5 stars Best book for RSI sufferers, 2 Sep 2008
By Mr. A. Shohid - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I have had RSI from computer overuse now for 2 years and its something I would not wish on my worst enemy. Its halted my career, caused me depression pain and anguish, ive been a burden on friends and family and Ive done next to nothing these past two years in an effort to recover.

The Doctors/Physios etc I have seen have been next to useless, and really do not even begin to understand how RSI is caused, let alone treat it. I spent a year and a half massaging, icing, stretching and doing eccentric exercises on my forearm when the issue was in my shoulder because of recommendations from the so called "professionals"

I owe massive chunk of me recovering to a stage where I can actually type with only minimal amounts of discomfort from this book. This was the first book that made me truly realise what was happening to and in my body and gave some steps on how to recover.

But I believe that this book has to be read in conjunction with two other books, the trigger point therapy workbook and conquering carpal tunnel - Its not carpal tunnel tells you what's wrong and how to begin to treat yourself and the two other books give more in-depth treatment recommendations.

So if you do have RSI pain I wholeheartedly recommend this book, it's the only book that ive found that gives an intelligent explanation of how RSI is caused and what treatment that can get back to the path of recovery.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book, 13 Oct 2003
By A Customer
I have recently developed hand complaints (RSI) and have hit a dead end with reliable information, that is until I found this book.
Although only 30 pages in, I am already feeling a lot better about my condition, the book is written from a prevention rather then cure angle (so far).
The main difference with this book and lots of others is that all of the information is very accurate and makes you realise you are not alone with this condition.
One of the worst factors of this condition is the lack of reliable knowledge and understanding you will encounter when explaining the problem to people, and this book really takes away the feeling of being alone.
I would recommend this book to anyone who treats RSI, is responsible for other staff's health and safety and most of all anyone who is suffering from RSI or any of the symptoms.
One of the points in this book is that people do not address their problems quickly enough, and instead adjust posture so it is less painful, this is the biggest mistake sufferers of RSI conditions make, and only through education and your own understanding of the problem will you actually be able to prevent / delay the effects.

Simply put everyone who uses a computer keyboard every day should read this book, it is quite easy going, and unlike a lot of other books of this type does not delve straight into some of the more scary and sometimes depressing material, ie. which surgery, and has really perked me up.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good overview, but not conclusive, 9 Sep 2005
By A Customer
This book follows several people with RSI as they try to find a cure. It contains all of the up-to-date medical information with regard to helping RSI sufferers. Yet, only one person is cured, and this person uses Dr John Sarno's approach (see: The Mind/Body Prescription also on Amazon). I've used this approach myself and am 95% cured!

It's worth knowing as much as possible about this condition.
