5.0 out of 5 stars The most inspirational HE book I've read yet ..., 10 April 2001
By A Customer
The best thing about 'Patchwork' is that it literally shows you how families fit schooling around the needs of their particular families. The astonishing thing is that no two families are alike. They demonstrate how HE can be tailored in an infinite number of ways to suit not only the needs of the children, but the schedules of the parents with great success. The book is Christian in nature, but this should not put non-Christians off.

I was trying to figure out how to organise our own 'school' and reading this book allowed me to pick and choose schedules, techniques, and philosophies that appealed to me. It provided me with a starting point, which has to be the most valuable thing you could give a family new to home education.

Our copy is now well worn, dog-eared, written-in and coffee-stained as it has been passed around a number of friends considering home education. I may have to buy a new one since I am sure I will refer to it for many years to come!

5.0 out of 5 stars An amazing insight into a homeschooling day, 21 Mar 1999
By A Customer
This book is a brilliant read for anyone even remotely interested in a non-school education. As a homeschooled teenager myself, I found it really interesting to see how other similar families spend their days, and it gave me plenty of ideas and thoughts to contend with! This is a book that you really can't afford to miss, especially if you're new to the concept of homeschooling. It is definitely an interesting read.

I am still reading this book, but am thus far very impressed with the wealth of information provided. Great reading for anybody thinking about homeschooling.
