Insightful approach to the age old art of face reading, 20 Jan 1999
By A Customer
As a physiognomist (face reader) I read every book I can find on face reading, but nothing I have seen comes close to The Power of Face Reading, except, perhaps, Rosetree's previous book, I Can Read Your Face. Based on the premise that "God Don't Make No Junk," Roestree's insightful, humorous, lively and, above all, loving, system of face reading is a welcome and refreshing approach to a subject so often treated in a negative and judgmental fashion. The Power of Face Reading offers an easy to learn, invaluable tool for men and women desiring to know and appreciate one another, for salespeople trying to meet the needs of their customers, for parents and teachers wishing to understand and communicate effectively with children and teenagers discovering who they are and want to be - in other words, for everyone.

Face reading gives you more information than Astrology!, 16 Oct 1998
By A Customer
The Power of Face Reading is aptly named. I used to envy folks who could size others up just by asking, "What's your sign?" With The Power of Face Reading, I don't have to ask. Is my new neighbor easy going or controlling? The answer's there in her eyebrows and chin. Can I have a personal conversation with my boss, or should I be strictly business? His lips will tell. As someone who never could understand other people, The Power of Face Reading has given me an invaluable tool for getting along with all kinds of folks. The Power of Face Reading is well-organized, fast paced and funny. The chapters are divided by eyes, ears, noses, etc. so you can learn a single trait or the whole face. The question and answer format adds depth to each chapter. The clear line drwaings enhance the text. Rose's style is light and breezy, encouraging the reader to feel that learning face reading really is a breeze. Rose Rosetree knows her stuff, and packs the book with information, without overwhelming you. You'll have a good time while you learn.

What a load of Tosh! As if ..., 2 Dec 2005
Honestly, you'd be better off reading tea leaves, looking at the entrails of a sacrificed goat or just gazing at the stars. It actually tells you the most stupid things with a completey straight face - like the length of your eyebrows determins how far through projects you get: so if you're eyebrows are 1/4 length, you only get a quarter way through things; if they are 1/2 length then you typically complete half your projects and, surprise surprise, if they are full length then you are the kind of person who completes things! So if you really do believe things like that (from full lips, nose size etc etc etc) you will like this book - but only probably cos you're really stupid in the first place! For all other normal people, don't be taken in thinking that you might actually learn something here- do not but it! But perhaps the author is right all along and i'm being foolish, and perhaps witch ducking was an acurate way to find witches, and perhaps little faries live at the bottom of my garden too, actually i can hear them now so i better be off ... Don't be fooled!
