5.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating, page turning!, 23 April 2001
By A Customer
A book that looks at the darker side of life, the 'freaks' who you don't see today, with the advances in modern medecine and political correctness. I don't think there is a more interesting, well written and above all, true book around today. Here is a freaks book from a freak's point of view, original, compassionate and an essential read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good!, 13 Mar 2008
An interesting and in depth look into the world of sideshows and natural marvels. The book is intriguing with its choice of photos, but also sensitive towards the 'freaks' that it speaks of. I particularly enjoyed reading about the lives of these fasinating people, most of whom have had to overcome much hardship.
Only downside is that i wish there were some coloured images, but overall it is a very interesting book. Would recommend!
