5.0 out of 5 stars Even better than "The Last Open Road", 2 April 2003
By Peter Fenelon - See all my reviews
(TOP 50 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
The tale of young mechanic Buddy Palumbo and his journey through life (and the fifties racing scene) continues, picking up where we left off at the end of The Last Open Road with his engagement, and heading rapidly south to the Carrera Panamericana, the mad road race through Mexico, and then wandering through the rest of the sports car racing world.

The racing detail is as crisp as ever, Buddy's gradual realisation that the world outside Passaic NJ has something to offer is charming, most of the favourite characters from The Last Open Road are still around (as are many of the historical figures) and all in all this is more of the same - splendid, brilliantly readable fun.

Buy all three. You'll love them.
