5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent explanation of OCD., 25 Feb 2000
By A Customer
This book, designed to explain OCD to children is a fantastic resource. The book tells the story of Polly, a young girl whose life is affected by OCD - it explains some of her compulsions and the rituals she has to perfom. The book raises important issues such as the isolation children who suffer from OCD can feel and how this can be overcome. The book offers a very simplistic yet very good explanation of the chemical process that causes OCD. The book is only short and therefore ideal to read with children or them to read alone. Although essestially a childrens book I would whole heartedly recomend anyone who has any confusion about OCD gets a copy of this book. The writer shows great compassion and understanding of what can be a very misunderstood and frighteneing condition. A valuable resource for anyone working with children or young people.
