Product Description

Review

'A funny, charming, inventive comic novel. Michael Bollen's warmth, sharp wit and eye for satirical detail reminded me of Douglas Adams. Quite possibly the best work of fiction since The Bible.' --STEPHEN MERCHANT, The Office, Extras

5.0 out of 5 stars Funniest author since Douglas Adams, 3 Jun 2008
It's the future and it's run by corporations. To be allowed to exist in corporate run civilization you have to have shares in Life Itself TM. Without these you are forced to live in abject squalor and poverty in the hinterlands outside the major cities. This hilarious satirical look at an all too possible dystopian future is Mike Bollen's first book, but I very much hope not his last. It's the kind of book you can't put down once you've picked it up. I read it on the tube every day on my way to work and every step of the journey I saw all the signs that this book predicted a future where all the ludicrous dehumanising current trends in society are taken to their logical extreme. Funny, dark, intelligent, prophetic humour at its best. And did I mention that it is really really funny? Hilarious. Highly recommended.

Living beneath this book's comedy style, is a serious novel about our daily modern life.

It is geniunely funny, with hilarious characters and situations, with a fast moving plot.

I would highly recommend it to anyone.
