Product Description

From the Publisher
Although this tale is aimed at children aged 9 to 12, many adults are enjoying this magical fantasy adventure too. Available in paperback only, and with 160 pages in total, this story is an ideal, one-chapter-a-night, bedtime read. Parents can even read this book to a slightly younger age group and the story will not be lost, because Wolfren Riverstick is a visually descriptive writer.

From the Author
As yet, I have not heard a bad word said about this book. It has been read by people of all ages who come from all over the world, and both children and adults have loved the story so much that they have set it aside for a once-a-year read! If you really want to be taken away to a world far removed from the one in which we live, then please get hold of a copy of "A Cat Called Ian" and lose yourself in my world.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wolfie's book, 8 Mar 2008
By Mrs. Frances Wendy Smith "Franny" (Warwick UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I really enjoyed this morality tale for children. A very unpleasant little boy called Ian is turned into a cat. As a cat he has nine lives. He wears a collar studded with nine bright jewels and every time he loses a life (by playing the sort of nasty tricks he played when he was a boy) one of the jewels dies and goes out. Pretty soon, Ian realises that perhaps being horrible is not such a good idea!

A Cat Called Ian is the first children's book published by lorry driver Wolfren Riverstick and I am looking forward to reading the next two, "Amanda & Skelly" & "Amanda Goes to Laktose"

1.0 out of 5 stars A Cat Called Ian, 15 Feb 2008
Wolfren Riverstick is a master story teller and this one does not dissapoint. His style may be a little different from conventional ideas, but that is merely a reflection of the man and his fascinating stories. Here a little boy is transformed into a cat to teach him an important lesson. Actually he learns lots of important lessons, but boy, does he have some fun along the way! This story really captures the imagination and holds it. One day this will be a classic.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great first novel, 8 Dec 2007
When a young boy makes the decision to climb the great white oak at the top of sunrise hill, he is ambushed by a gang of red squirrels who take him into Catland. In Catland he becomes a cat and the Catmaster gives him the sentence of nine lives, as a punishment for his bad behaviour and if he loses his nine lives he must remain a cat forever.
I liked this book because it was funny and you never know whats going to happen next. Does he return to his life as a boy or does he remain a cat forever? Youll have to read the story to find out!
I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who likes a gripping, sometimes hilarious read. An absolutely unputdownable book!
Five out of five!
