5.0 out of 5 stars A Life Saver, 30 Nov 2006
I bought this book when I decided to sit the British Citezenship test after living in the UK for 12 odd years. I also bought the official book (Life in the United Kingdom: A Journey to Citizenship) for the test, which is a much thicker book and about 80% of its content is irrelevant for the test - good luck passing the test with that ;)

Henry Dillons' book is a concise no-nonsense "straight-to-the-point" revision of the official book and it teaches all you need to know to pass the test in about 3 chapters. The book is also very small and can be read leisurely in a couple of days. This book also has sample questions at the end of each section (along with answers at the back) which helps tremendously towards helping you assimilate the material, and puts further focus on what really matters for the exam. I took the test after going through this book and passed it very easily (like brushing dirt off my shoulder). There was not one question in the test that was unexpected and I did not even have to read the official book from the Home Office.

If you want to pass the British Citizenship test and don't have time to read a huge textbook (i.e the offical book), buy this book and spend a few days prowling through it. You can't go wrong.

Whoever wrote this book is a life saver for us busy folks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Passed my test first time with this book., 2 Jul 2006
By Chris (London) - See all my reviews
I bought this book and the home office book as a bundle from Amazon.

The Study Guide contained exactly the same official study materials as the Home Office book and also included revision questions. I was worried that there may have been missing or wrong information but the official materials are reproduced exactly the same.

The study guide is a smaller book because it only has chapters 2,3 and 4 but only these chapters are tested on. So everything was there in the Study Guide book. I kept the home office book as it had lots of other stuff in the other chapters which was interesting but not tested.

Best of all, I passed the test first time. Doing the questions helped me a lot to memorise the content of the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars All you need - but be quick before old test is phased out, 18 April 2007
IMPORTANT NOTE: This book includes chapters 2,3 and 4 as printed in the 2004 official version. The official version has since been revised (2007). When I sat the test this week they offered the choice of either old or new versions. I don't know how long this will apply though (worth checking this when you book your test).

Assuming you are sitting the old version of the test... this is all you need. I'm a very careful shopper and was completely happy with this purchase. I read the chapters twice (which took about 3 hours each time) and ran through the 10 practice tests twice. I sat the actual test this week and passed with confidence.

Aside from being cheaper it is also very well structured (the practice tests at the back are extremely good indeed).

DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK.
The immigration test hasn't been based on this material since September 2007. It shouldn't even be on sale anymore.
