Product Description
Synopsis
A No-Holds Barred - it is an insight into scotland's most infamous casual football firm. Carrick, one of the originators of the I.C.F., tells all about clashes with rival gangs, the I.C.F's loyalist connections and the ties with the Orange Order. Carrick writes with great honesty and openness about his time as one of the leaders of Scotland's most ill-reputed football gang. He tells of the clashes with rival casual gangs, including battles with old adversaries Celtic, and the I.C.F.'s loyalist connections. He also writes about his growing up in one of Britain's toughest cities, about the razor gangs and the growing use of guns. He also exposes the part cocaine plays in the game, both with the fans and the players.

1.0 out of 5 stars Please no more, 23 Jul 2007
I started buying these kind of books years ago and from the outset enjoyed them, there was very good.. Steaming In, Scally, Bovver... there was good, BBC, City Pysco's, Naughty 40 there was poor, Red Army, Suicide Squad, ICF and there was total waste of money efforts, of late these seem to be more and more frequently released.

Regardless of the quality though I kept the faith and read them all, cover to cover until now!

32 pages was enough, thankfully the type set was big and there were a few or 20 pages may have been my lot.

This publisher seems to have no shame and is now killing the ,market with nonsical scribes which borderline on utter rubbish.

Rangers must have a story to tell, and I am sure this fella is one of the men who should have told it, I feel he has been let down by a poor publisher desperate to get it out in the shops while not caring about the quality just his quick return on investment!

No more please Mr King you are at the bottom of the ladder now and in danger of sinking lower.

Not surprising that Martin King Billy is drafted in for help him being Chelsea and all. Keep it in the family.
Anyway Carrick is my age. Yes he's Rangers main face. But being that Glasgow's Razor Gangs were around when I was a toddler what relevance have they to this? Or his Irish or far right politics? Keep the ITK crowd happy I suppose.
The Scottish 'casual' scene was dominated by two teams neither of whom were from Glasgow.
The only one other than Aberdeen or Hibs worth a mention would be Motherwell. End of story.
And by the way Davey we've asked around and no-one knows what you're on about re: the Friday before you won the league in Aberdeen? And I mean no-one at all. That wouldn't be untrue now would it?
And where's the chapter on the Scottish National (sic) Firm. Or was that just too embarassing to own up to? We're still laughing about that episode up here.

Not a good book in my opinion. Having been around the secne in the 80's and some of the 90's. The book gives no real credit to the two main Hooligan firms in Scotland which were Aberdeen and Hibs. Rangers were rated along side Celtic with not matching up anywere near to the two East Coast Firms. For me Celtic being a better firm that Rangers in those days.

You'd think by reading this Rangers were the best around and hardly ever came off worse.

Very biased and a rushed book.
