It is refreshing to see a new school of poets emerging from 2 countries simultaneously, who have managed to meet and be inspired by the similarities and differences between their worlds, especially as this anthology comes from the remote regions outside of the glass citidals of London and Helsinki's cultural imperialism.

This is a raw edged and often shamanic journey into the archipelagos and post industrial landscapes of South West Finland and North East England. I was deeply moved by the power and passion of the poetry within, both romantic and heart breakingly realistic with a tough humour that conjures the shades of Bukowski and Wordsworth at the same time.

You can tell these poets run free of the shackles of literary cliquedom. Real stuff with a kaleidoscope of personal and national mythologies.

the best anthology I've read in yonks.
