4.0 out of 5 stars Useful but not comprehensive, 13 April 2008
By S. Barnes (UK) - See all my reviews
(TOP 1000 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
This little guide book is really useful. Now 4 years old, you'll just need to check up on places in the book before making a special visit to make sure they're still the same. Most of the descriptions on places tell you when they're not just good for veggies, but for veggies mates too & the guide is also quite good at picking out places for vegans. It's not as comprehensive as I would have liked - I wouldn't have minded it being another inch thicker with more places rating a mention. Some parts of the country are particularly thin on info. Includes a good mix of cafes, pubs & restaurants.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent guide to vegetarian resturants, 5 Oct 2008
By Stuart G. Marshall "Stuart Marshall" (Birmingham UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I travel all over the country with work and am usually desperate for an alternative to terrible pub veggie food. This guide has served me well over the last 4 years, and yes - although it's getting out of date now, (and it's best to ring first to check the restaurant is still there) it is still a fine veggie guide. I have discovered some wonderful veggie restaurants from it - all over the country - the two veggie curry houses in Edinburgh remain my favourites in the UK - and I live in Birmingham so it's a long way for a take-away!
I thought I had lost this - my veggie bible - and got as far a putting another copy into my Amazon shopping basket before finding my copy again!!! So yes I would still buy it again - even 4 years later. Buy it to support the publishers to produce an update!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Out of date, 19 Sep 2008
By Mrs. A. F. Fairbank "mrscuddles" (Gods Own County - Yorkshire) - See all my reviews

I bought this book in 2007 and the two vegetarian restaurants I've visited so far closed down 1 and 2 years ago. One in Bridlington and one in Robins Hoods Bay in North Yorkshire. I think I'll use the internet in future as it is probably more up to date!

4.0 out of 5 stars Satisfied customer
I recently used this book in London and Edinburgh and was very pleased with it. It helped me find a number of veggie restaurants that I would otherwise never have found by chance.
