Product Description

Book Description

'The Spellbinding Power of Palmistry' is the result of over twenty years of research, reading and teaching hand reading. Though there are hundreds of palmistry books out there, most them are steeped in archaic gobbledegook about crosses, stars and mounts. A lot of ideas in palmistry haven’t been questioned since Desbarrolle’s original treatise on the subject, first published around 1840.

This book doesn’t present you with an endless list of signs and markings to remember; but it gives you clear principles and apt metaphors that encapsulate modern psychology.

While ditching many redundant interpretations and planetary connections, much original material on, for example, sexuality and creativity is introduced. Also the very latest scientific papers on such things as residual testosterone level and its representation in the fingers is covered.

This book will lead you carefully through the process of giving a reading with over 180 photographic illustrations and lucid instructions. You’ll learn everything from health indications in the fingernails, to honing your intuition.

The twelve chapters will each be followed by exercises, in a unique and progressive learning process, developed from the author's vast experience in teaching palmistry.

With this book as your guide you’ll amaze yourself with the spellbinding power of modern palmistry.

From the Inside Flap

Johnny Fincham is a charismatic hand reader whose frequent media appearances and celebrity clients have made him widely known.

Johnny has completely updated the ancient science of palmistry. He shows how rather than a confrontation with a fixed fate, a good hand reading can be a life changing, revelatory, magical experience.

The result of twenty years of reading, teaching and researching palmistry, this book will lead you gently through the process of becoming a master palmist with 180 illustrations and lucid instructions. Full of original research, you’ll learn everything from the meaning of the major lines, through health indications in the fingernails, to honing your intuition.

Finally, Johnny reveals, for the first time in print, the existence of the passion line, the key to understanding an individual’s sexuality.

With this book as your guide you’ll amaze yourself with an art that is truly spellbinding.

"A simple and clear book designed to make learning palmistry as easy as possible. I warmly recommend it"
Colin Wilson

"Britain’s leading palmist"

5.0 out of 5 stars For the serious beginner, that wants to become a pro., 5 May 2005
By A Customer
This book isn't like any other palmistry books I've read. For a start, it's broken down into a series of exercises that you have to complete and some of them are hard. For instance, you've got to collect one of the four types of elemental palm - which took me nearly two weeks to do. There's an exercise at the end of every chapter.
The images in this book are really good - there are about 200 of them, some are a bit small, but they're of actual palms, rather than silly drawings that you get in most palmistry books.
The book takes you right through the reading process, from learning how to take a palm print, to giving a reading to professional level. There's lots of stuff here: how to give spiritual readings, health readings, vocational, psychological readings. Lots of scientific research that backs up palmistry. And it even teaches you how to sharpen up your intuition.
All in all, a damn good book, the best palmistry work I've read by a long way. But it is hard work, and it's not for the faint hearted.

5.0 out of 5 stars A breakthrough in palmistry, 5 April 2006
By angela (australia) - See all my reviews
Yeah, I enjoyed this book. I have a lot of palmistry books and this work actually breaks new ground with some new insights and research that was very impressive. For instance, the index finger is linked to the mother relationship and so a lot about a persons nuturing experience can be inferred from it. Along with a lot of very practical and thorough advice, there's a chapter about how to develop your intuition which I've never come across before in a palmistry book.
I'd say this is an excellent book and well worth a recommendation, there's something here for beginner and pro alike. The illustrations are particularly good.
My only critisicm is that it's a bit 'dense'. There's a lot packed into every page and a bit more spacing out and the addition of a few graphics would liven the text up a bit.

5.0 out of 5 stars completely fresh look at palmistry, 30 Nov 2006
This is a cool book. It's well written and quite funny in parts with some devastating new research and fresh angles on palmistry that are bang up-to-date. This book makes a very effective tool for learning the art of hand-reading. If you want a really modern, palmistry manual that works- get this one - it's great.

5.0 out of 5 stars intelligent and original
I liked this book. Of all the palmistry books on my shelves (I have 14 or so) this one is completely fresh. It doesn't just rehash old material as most palmistry books do. Read more
