Product Description

Review

There are hundreds of books for the expectant mum, but few for the father-to-be, so this light-hearted, practical guide, focusing on the emotional journey, should be another winner for this excellent small publisher. THE BOOKSELLER Bookseller - New titles: January 2005 "One first-time-father-to-be's journal of the nine months from conception to birth, and how it all feels from a dad's perspective."

5.0 out of 5 stars This made me laugh and reassured me at the same time, 5 Jan 2005
By A Customer
My wife is expecting our first baby and someone kindly gave me this book for Xmas. It made me laugh and reassured me at the same time. Look, to be honest, I am petrified about becoming a dad for the first time. I hadn't a clue what to expect and this book did ease a lot of my fears. It's no picnic going through this stuff for the very first time - and my wife says we are going to have lots of babies.....I hope there is a follow up - what to expect during the first year, that sort of thing because, to put it bluntly, I'm a bit s**t scared of that part of the process as well. Good book. Worth a read even if you aren't a lad about to become a dad. Made me laugh and it's well written - and I loved the bomb (you'll have to read it to understand...)

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent gift for an expectant father (or indeed mother), 8 Dec 2004
By sarah davies (Cheshire) - See all my reviews
This book is a fabulous "survival guide" if you know of any male who has just found out that he is about to be a father. From a woman's point of view, it is a fantastic insite into just how your man may be feeling about the pregnancy and the emotional turmoil he may be facing. A witty account of an expectant father's feelings throughout his wife's pregnancy which will have you laughing as well as some important information about help available to you. An absolute must for any couple you know who are expecting a child.

5.0 out of 5 stars From Lad To Dad, 6 Dec 2004
By Zoe Archer (england) - See all my reviews
This is a very interesting and funny book. As a mother of two small children I could relate to so much from begining to end. Some parts were so funny my sides hurt. It is informative with out being patronising and full of great tips. It was great to get an insight of how a man feels while his partner is going through some of the most amazing chances. I have recommend this book to a lot of people, one of whom is going from being 'a lad to a dad'and is full of fears and worries. I know this book will help him. I loved this book, it well worth reading even after having children and a few of my friends will be getting a copy for christmas.

I got two books as an expectant father, this was one of them. The one was Fatherhood: The Truth
Out of the two I much preferred the latter. Read more
