Product Description

Book Description
Really Useful Guitar Stuff (RUGS) covers all of the material that a beginner guitarist needs to know. It covers basic chords, barre chords, the pentatonic scale, major scales, blues, strumming and rhythm guitar, basic theory, power chords and has many examples to play and pieces to learn. It is designed to be used with a private tutor but many people use the book by itself and progress very well, because the information is laid out very clearly. For teachers it takes all the stress from planning lessons as all the information is laid out in a clear easy to understand order that lets you take the student through all the essential information in an easy to understand way. It is being used by many of the UK's top guitar teachers and many schools and education authorities.

About the Author
Justin Sandercoe is a London based guitarist, songwriter and
producer who grew up in Tasmania (the little island off the South East
coast of Australia).

He teaches at The Guitar Institute (guitarinstitute.com) and also
teaches privately in West London. He has taught hundreds of students over
nearly 15 years, teaching all ages and abilities and many styles.

His original music can be heard on his web site at sandercoe.com and at
his myspace page myspace.com/justinsandercoe. He is currently putting
the finishing touches on his second EP and is also gigging around the UK,
see the site for more details. Obvious musical influences are Neil Young,
Neil Finn and The Rolling Stones and his music is described as having and
analogue attitude.

He has also produced and written tracks for Katie Melua and is currently
(2006) writing and touring with her, playing electric and acoustic guitar
in the band. Her fabulous performance of his song Turn To Tell is available
as the b-side on the Call Off The Search single. The song can also be heard
on the South African release of the album Call Off The Seach, which has
received a Platinum status. Justin is also featured in the video clip of
the same song, found on the bonus DVD of the UK album release. A live DVD
from the 2006 European tour is out now as a special bonus edition of piece
by piece. He also taught her guitar from (almost) scratch and is still her
teacher.

He has written and published a beginners teaching manual, Really Useful
Guitar Stuff which is available from his site at justinguitar.com and
also from Amazon.co.uk.

He played thousands of concerts around the world with a variety of acts -
Most recently the UK and European tour with Katie Melua - previously, The
Brit Awards 2004 (with Katie Melua and Jamie Cullum), The Record Of The
Year 2004 and 2005 (with Katie Melua), The Johnny Vaughn house band,
supported Bryan Adams at the Ajax Arena (Amsterdam), well over 1000 shows
with The Counterfeit Stones including a sold out Albert Hall headline, The
Shepherds Bush Empire and numerous TV and Radio appearances.

He has written and produced all the music for a guitar instructional CD-ROM
available from the Charanga (Music Coach) company, available for download:
Master Rock Power Chords and Master Blues Styles (enter the promotional
code: JustinSandercoe for a 33% discount!) or in a shop near you! It is
also included on the Teaching You Electric Guitar CD-ROM and on others by
the same company.

He has been featured in and written for Guitar Techniques, Total Guitar and
been featured in Guitar magazine. He has also been published in Guitar
Tutor, the magazine of the Registry Of Guitar Tutors, and has done teaching
masterclasses at their annual conference. A featured tutor on many guitar
web sites including The Guitar Circle. He regularly lectures for The
International Guitar Federation around the UK.

(Chrysalis), Tina Grace (Nitin Sawny) and many others...
