Product Description

Review

Sarah Anderson, co-author with Miranda Davies of Inside Notting Hill, has a particular place in the story of this London district. It was to her Travel Bookshop that Richard Curtis came for inspiration for his film Notting Hill, which went on to feature Hugh Grant as the owner of a bookshop visited by Julia Roberts. The book is for anyone keen to get beneath the skin of this fascinating place - almost every street seems to have its own story linked to a succession of famous writers, artists and performers. On your next visit to London, forget about the London Eye and wander the streets of Notting Hill for quite a different perspective on the capital. (Mail on Sunday 15/07/07) --Mail on Sunday 15/07/07

Denizens of bohemian Notting Hill, including writers Tim Lott and Rachel Johnson, gatherd at the Travel Bookshop in Blenheim Crescent to celebrate the relaunch of Inside Notting Hill. (Evening Standard 22/06/07) --Evening Standard 22/06/07

5.0 out of 5 stars An Essential Guide Book, 7 Jun 2008
Notting Hill punches above it weight in terms of history, landmarks, character and legends. This essential guide to the area packs in reviews of almost every shop, bar, restaurant, cafe, theatre and cinema from Notting Hill Gate to North Kensington. Also includes a history of the area with reference to Carnival, music, the markets, Oz magazine, Michael X, Frestonia, riots and everything in between. If only every guide book could be as detailed.
