This is a really useful book to take on a day out in the Peak District, in fact it may make you investigate a village you had never heard of before. Each entry (and there are 200 pubs covered), includes the address, map grid reference, opening hours, details of the cask beer (good if you enjoy real ale), food served (with times available), facilities for children and disabled visitors.
It is an interesting read with boxes giving snippets of information about walks, local sites, famous people and traditions of the various locations.
It is like sitting next to a local in the snug who will tell you everything you need to know.
The book is very easy to find your way around as there are two indexes, one by Pub name and one by location and four appendixes, one giving pubs which have regular live music, pubs with camping facilities, those which serve food after 9.30pm and those with a great view.
