For too long the mother tongue has been the ultimate taboo in the English language classroom. This book sets out to redress the balance.

A recipe style book, with lots and lots of ideas for using the mother tongue in the classroom to everyone's advantage. Probably aimed primarily at monolingual classes with a teacher who has at least a working command of their students' language, however there are also many activities which could be used by a teacher teaching a multi-lingual class.

Original and thought-provoking.
