Product Description

Francesca Beard

Romance is not dead but alive and kicking against the cellar door of Tim Wells’ imagination.

Roddy Lumsden

Tim Wells is a man of contradictions - both a post-ranting lowlife herbert and a pantoum penning polymath.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rowdy Blues, 7 April 2003
By Yen Li (Vancouver, Canada) - See all my reviews
Some punchy, funny, downright dirty poems in this second collection from Tim Wells. There's some longer pieces, and some prose this time out. The poems are funny, salty, sensitive and always human, all too human.
There's a real feel of the hard East London that Tim's from, though I get the impression he'd rather have his hands on something softer!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lick your lips for the after taste..., 10 Dec 2003
These poems dont just leave you with a smile or an agreable nod of the head, they open the secret door of your mind, sit down pour a drink, and wet the appatite of the minds eye! I can actualy smell a lot of common-sense working class views in the ingredients, mixed well in an articulate, witty, clever and involving blend, with a topping of propping up the bar and drooling!! Mmmmmm! lick your lips for the after taste!...

A few outstanding poems are...
Minding the gap.
Call me Ishmael.
A picture from life's other side.
Cry our little eyes out.
