Product Description

Book Description

For the first time, a book has been written for the general reader that explains the nature and consequences of colour blindness.
The first part of the book describes the several types of colour vision deficiency and how they are passed from generation to generation. The second part uses computer generated illustrations to recreate the world as seen by the colour blind. Difficulties experienced in everyday life are discussed, plus problems that may be encountered at work and at school. Advice is given on the use of coloured lenses that can assist in distinguishing colours.
The book will be of great interest to the colour blind, their parents and their spouses. It will be found of value by professionals such as teachers, careers advisers and graphic designers.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent book! Well worth a read., 4 April 2002
By A Customer
If you are either colour blind yourself, or know someone who is colour blind, then this is the book for you! It explains very clearly what causes colour blindness and gives plenty of practical advice about what you can do about it and some of the pitfalls to look out for. The photographs showing how colours change in the eyes of different people are of particular interest.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, and comprehensive, 23 May 2002
This book is easy to read, and very infomative. I am not colour blind, but it is fascinating to read nonetheless. I am a feature film editor, so it is particularly interesting to me to see how so much of the population views colour in films differently from the 'norm'. Bravo!
