First in the field charts both the history of The Camping and Caravanning Club and the camping industry itself over the past 100 years. It includes stories and anecdotes from many camping enthusiasts and allows you to compare childhood memories of camping with your family to modern day tent and caravan holidaying. The photographs in the book are superb and I would recommend First in the Field just for these alone.
